We are a group of students representing The Netherlands during the Aarhus Summer School 2013 in Denmark. We post updates regarding our presentation which is centered on the Dutch Monarchy and its connections.Tumblr (3.0; @touchofdutch)http://touchofdutch.tumblr.com/<p>Queen Beatrix abdicated from the throne after 33 years, saying that it was time for the throne to be held by a &#8220;new generation&#8221;. Willem-Alexander&#8217;s wife, Maxima who was born in Argentina, became Queen and she is said to be more popular than the King.</p> <p>Because of the change, the Netherlands will celebrate yearly the kingsday, on april 27th, instead of queensday held until 2013 on april 30th.
